In Cisco Packet Tracer, a cluster is basically a way to group multiple devices together into a single visual block so your workspace stays organized.
It does not change how the network functions. It’s purely for organization and readability.
🔹 What a Cluster Does
- Groups routers, switches, PCs, etc. into one labeled box
- Lets you collapse or expand the group
- Makes large topologies easier to manage
- Helps when building multi-site or enterprise simulations
Think of it like putting several devices inside a folder.
🔹 Example Use Case
If you’re building:
- A branch office network
- A data center
- A classroom lab with repeated layouts
You could cluster each section so your main canvas isn’t messy.
🔹 How to Create a Cluster
- Select multiple devices (drag selection box).
- Navigate to top blue menu.
- Choose cloud icon with the plus symbol to Create the Cluster.
- You can also just, hit Shift + U as a keyboard shortcut.
- Name it.
- Collapse or expand as needed.
